Our Mission
It is our desire in all we do at Kids Critters and Country at Allie's Place to reach out with love to the children of the world, helping them to develop a healthy self image, to enjoy learning through music and reading, to develop a greater degree of creativity and to encourage them to have fun and just be a kid.
Allie Jo Thomas is a mom who has written over 200 songs and has performed countless children's shows wherever she has lived, but especially in a small town in the mountains of California where she, her husband and 3 daughters have lived for over 10 years. The project of Kids, Critters and Country at Allie's Place is a dream come true for Allie, and her desire is that this project will allow her to reach out and touch the hearts of all the children of the world.
How It All Began
Allie Jo Thomas and I have been co-writing for years but it wasn’t until she sent out a request to our group of writers that I discovered she also wrote and performed for children. With all of us having kids, grandkids or just being "kids", new wonderful children’s songs poured in and the idea for the "Kids Critters and Country at Allie’s Place" project was born. "Moose on the Loose" came as a whim in the middle of a busy work day and "Millie the Argopsaurus" woke me in the middle of the night. As a writer/songwriter, I am used to having inspirations come out of the blue, and have learned to write them down and let them take shape in their own time. The "Moose" and "Millie" ideas very quickly grew into stories, and then into songs as I passed them on to Allie, but it wasn’t until they reached Shelley Brant-Levi, a very gifted illustrator, that the critters truly came to life. Allie and I discovered that we shared not only the love of writing and of the theater but more importantly, the love of children. And it was with the gentle nudges, the kind that only God can give, that we felt led to use our talents and those of our dynamic group of songwriters to reach out and touch the lives of the children of the world. We have been working toward that goal. Our CDs and books are dreams that have come true for us, and in turn, they are our gifts to all of you. We hope they will touch your lives and bring a smile to your heart. "

KIDS CRITTERS & COUNTRY FAMILY
At Allie’s Place we not only encourage young people to be creative and to explore their talents but we have some of these very talented “kids” in our Kids Critters & Country family. Whether they sing or write songs, we’re proud to present the newest members of our family.

DARIANNE BEE
When you hear those sweet backup vocals on our CDs, they come from phenomenal 16 year-old DARIANNE BEE. Darianne is one of the main vocalists for her family band, The Bee Family, from the beautiful state of Washington. Singing has been a part of Darianne’s life since she was small and with her trademark voice she brings that feeling of magic to every song she sings. With her sweet voice, Darianne makes “Merry Christmas, Baby Jesus,” on our Family Country Christmas CD, her own. She also sings “Pretty Rainbow,” the song she co-wrote with her 10 year old cousin Katie Crawford and Jill Larsen, which you can hear on our Playin' Outside CD. Darianne also puts her special touch to “Kids, Critters and Country,” the Allie’s Place Theme Song which she sings on our debut CD. Darianne, a junior at Tacoma School of the Arts, treasures God, friendship and music. We are truly blessed to have her as a part of the Kids, Critters and Country Family! With talent like this remember the name DARIANNE BEE we think she’s destined for greatness!

AUTUMN ROSS
AUTUMN ROSS is one of those talented “Kids” who has joined our group of songwriters. Autumn and Allie Jo wrote the precious “Intro to Elvie” on our Family Country Christmas CD. Thirteen year old Autumn lives in the mountains of southern California with her family and her sweet “Critters” Scruffy, an Irish Terrier and her 3-year-old horse; a beautiful Tennessee Walker. Autumn is a member of a youth equestrian group called the Shadow Riders and, in addition to her riding, loves creative writing and spending time with her family. We see a promising writing career for Autumn and feel blessed that her songwriting debut was with the Kids, Critters and Country family.

JORDYN POSTON
It is always such a joy to welcome JORDYN POSTON back into the studio when we record in Nashville. Jordyn appears on our debut CD singing “God Made the Flowers,” with Allie Jo. The precious sweetness Jordyn brings to this song truly tugs at your heart. And when we needed that “extra something” when we were recording “Snowflakes” on our Family Country Christmas CD, it was Jordyn who gave “we can build a snowman…” that extra bit of magic. Jordyn, now 11 years old, lives in The Music City, Nashville, TN and has been singing and dancing since she was 3. Her theater credits include parts in the musicals “The Wizard of Oz” and “Oliver” and she has been the featured soloist for Bellevue Community Church’s KidsPlace programs. Another one of those very talented “Kids” we are blessed to have as part of our Kids, Critters and Country family!
